This weekend we checked out a music class at Gymboree. Annette got to bang on a drum...
...and dance to music with her Daddy!
Yesterday we went to Moody Gardens' Palm Beach in Galveston with a new mom's group we've met. Annette played with Sofia, who is one month older than her. They both tasted sand and decided it wasn't to their liking :-)
Annette enjoyed swimming and playing with sand toys,
but was worn out after a day at the beach :-)

Happy 9 month birthday, Annette! Today we went to the grand opening of Sprinkles Cupcakes (the company that started the fancy cupcake craze) in Highland Village.
It was a bit crazy - we stood in line for half an hour just to get into the store, and there were TV crews and photographers everywhere!
Houston Rockets star Shane Battier was serving cupcakes and autographing cupcake boxes. I think Annette had a crush on him - she didn't take her eyes off him the whole time!

Happy Father's Day! Annette woke Daddy up this morning with a card she made for him at school :-)
Kendall shows off his presents - onion goggles from the wiener dogs (so his sensitive eyes don't water when he chops onions!), a shirt and tie from me (because what would Father's Day be without a tie?), and a coffee mug from Annette with her picture on it!
She's the best present of all :-)
We had a great brunch at Guadalajara downtown with Grandpa David and Susan. The princess tried watermelon for the first time - she decided that instead of eating it, it was more fun to squeeze it in her little fists until all the juice ran out :-)

Annette's been working on her scooting all week - at Gymboree class on Wednesday she went around the circle to visit all the other babies :-)
Enjoying broccoli at snack time!
She's become quite fascinated with the dogs and their toys, and chases them around the room. Here she's figuring out how to play tug-of-war with Uli.
Kendall had a busy week, so we all enjoyed being together for breakfast this morning. Annette thought Daddy's scrambled eggs were yummy!

Annette was busy last week! She started summer camp at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, so is there two days a week for half the day. She must have been paying attention to the older babies, since this weekend she really started scooting forward across the floor! Last Monday we went to the Children's Museum where she tried scooting up the stairs :-)
Having upside-down time with Daddy before heading to school (notice Bella looking on with disdain - she's still a bit bitter about not being the only little girl in the house anymore!)
Every weekend Annette helps Daddy with the grocery shopping - she likes sitting in the cart and trying to grab things off the shelves :-)
Frank is one of the greeters at Kroger who stops by to say hi to Annette - Kendall says shopping takes a lot longer when you have a cute little baby in your cart!
Showing off her new tooth that's coming in on the top left-hand side - it was only a little nub last week, but it's getting longer every day!

Now that Annette is 8 months old, she's practicing feeding herself. Here she is with some of her finger foods. She likes biscuits and broccoli the best so far :-)
She's starting to stand while holding onto something very nicely - we got her a table toy with legs on it that she can stand and play with.
Yesterday we went to a barbecue at a neighbor's house. Annette enjoyed some time in the baby pool,
balanced on a beach ball,
and played inside with the big kids :-)

We're behind in our blog posts since everyone in the family except for Kendall has been sick since last week. Annette's better except for a bit of a stuffy nose, and her Mommy is slowly on the mend as well :-) Before we got sick, we went to the zoo last Monday with some friends and had a great time!
We got to see the new baby elephant - SO cute!!!
Annette enjoyed Memorial Day weekend with her Daddy, who borrowed the neighbor's toy car and drove her around. She'll have her driver's license before we know it!!
